Taste-masking formulation with Kollicoat® Smartseal 30 DP

A drug taste masking process employing the reverse-enteric polymer, Kollicoat® Smartseal, is one of the most effective options for solid and liquid formulations. Drug particles (powders, granules, pellets, mini-tablets) are coated with a polymer that is insoluble at salivas pH (~6.2 - 6.8) and immediately soluble in stomach pH (1.1 5.2), reducing contact of the bitter API with the taste buds in the mouth, while enabling immediate release of the drug in the stomach.
