Our assignments at Constellium, world leader in aluminum recycling

Constellium, one of the world's leading aluminum processors, called on our #Apave Mulhouse teams to provide #CSPS support for the expansion of their Neuf Brisach site. 1,500 employees, 450,000 tonnes of aluminium every year Constellium's Alsace plant in Neuf Brisach near Colmar is a major European player in recycling. The industrialist recycles aluminium to offer coils and sheets for the automotive and packaging industries. Despite the 245 hectares, production capacity is being further strengthened with the FD6 project, an extension to the foundry, under construction since September 2022 to increase the quantity of recycled material by 30%. And the aim is to reduce CO2 emissions by 440,000 tonnes per year. Classified as SEVSO threshold O, the plant is subject to stringent regulations. Constellium was therefore looking for a solid partner for all three phases of the project: design, construction and commissioning Apave was chosen in particular for its SPS (Safety and Health Protection) coordination and the safe intervention of the 80 companies working on the site The SPS mission is divided into two phases: The design phase, during which we analyze documents and draw up the general coordination plan.
Then we make joint inspection visits, in fact it's a welcome for each company on the project to make them aware of the different risks they'll find on the site, so that they comply with consistent operating procedures, and then we make unannounced visits, checking that everything is going well, that people are complying with the various instructions both from the Constellium site, and with the project's labor code. We currently have preventers and SPS coordinators on site, and the particularity is that they adapted very quickly to this major industrial site. This was appreciated by the customer. Adaptability thanks to Apave's extensive technical expertise. In the design phase, machine directive compliance, SPS coordination on an enclosed site requested by Constellium, and regulatory inspection of all buildings. Last but not least, trust is key to the quality of our exchanges. We now have more interpersonal relationships that enable us to talk openly about any problems we may encounter. And to be able to try and find solutions together, that will enable us to be in a safer and more secure situation on our site than would have been the case with purely contractual relations.
In Alsace and elsewhere in France, Apave supports industrial sites and companies in their development and environmental objectives in complete safety.
