[#LIVE] Delivery of the Humaitá, 2nd Scorpène submarine of the Brazilian Navy

Delivery ceremony of the Humaitá, second Scorpène class submarine, for the Brazilian Navy on Friday January 12 2024 at the Itaguaí base.

The Humaitá is the second submarine ordered by the Brazilian Navy in a series of 4 Scorpène, built by Itaguaí Construções Navais (ICN), thanks to a Transfer of Technology with Naval Group.

Through the Prosub program, Naval Group contributes to the development of a robust and sustainable Brazilian industrial ecosystem, through the acquisition of the industrial skills necessary for the production and testing of Scorpène.

The #Scorpène is a state-of-the-art, high-performance, stealthy and multipurpose submarine, designed for various missions and for which its level of automation and weaponry gives it a combat advantage.

It is equipped with the latest generation of combat systems, SUBTICS®, which meets the growing challenges in both deep and shallow waters.
